Linux Target and Generator
DDE GNU/Linux DDK Server Target
GNU/Linux-based Dynasty Generation Server
Dynasty, with its Dynasty Development Environment (DDE) enterprise application development suite, targets and deploys applications for Linux. In addition, a high performance Generation Server generator for the Linux platform is also supported.
GNU/Linux has established credibility in the enterprise server market through its low total cost of ownership and stability, thus providing an extremely attractive value proposition. This perception is further emphasized by the fact that all major UNIX vendors have a GNU/Linux based offering available (or at least under-development). Further more, GNU/Linux runs on an increasing number of hardware platforms (examples: x86, Itanium, ALPHA, PowerPC, PA‑RISC, UltraSPARC)
The trend in the Enterprise Server market is for GNU/Linux installations to continue to gain market share. GNU/Linux will acquire the “advanced tools” for managing and maintaining “high-end” UNIX clusters which are currently available under propriety UNIX platforms. GNU/Linux is likely to become more pervasive, mature, and scalable in the Enterprise Server arena. With that comes lower Total Cost of Ownership in deploying applications on the Linux platform. Dynasty Technologies, Inc. is addressing this trend.
The following products have been added to the DDE suite and are currently available:
- DDE GNU/Linux DDK Server Target
- GNU/Linux-based Dynasty Generation Server
DDK‑GNU/Linux Server Target
Supported OS, Database, Middleware, and Communications Target
- RedHat
- Oracle
- Tuxedo
- TCP/IP
GNU/Linux Generation Server
The GNU/Linux Generation Server provides a high performance generation alternative to the generation under DDE. This product capitalizes on the Linux clusters to provide generation speeds about 4 to 9 times faster than DDE generation, depending upon the application size. These results were obtained using a four-machine single processor Linux cluster.
